Uncle George
The sight where I located these photos (an outdated auction sight, I found a lot of stuff at those) claims that these photos are from the Bahamas during the shooting of Help! in 1965. I am not so sure about that. George wore a blue shirt in the filming and the shirt he is wearing here looks more like what he was wearing in Miami in 1964. The palm trees also remind me of Miami. However, I cannot really tell by looking at his hair since the wind is blowing it.
Also who is Uncle Walter?

Walter is Walter Strach, the Beatles accountant. The pics were taken in the Bahamas in December 1964 when George and Pattie went there for a holiday and stayed with the Strach family.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting find! Could this be from the short vacation George and Pattie took to the Bahamas from 9 December - 19 December 1964? There's a photo of George and a Dachshund where he's wearing the same shirt, and that is said to be taken on 11 Dec. 1964 at George's host home (it was in a '01 tribute magazine).
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information! I had totally forgotten about the trip to the Bahamas that George and Pattie took in 1964! I just knew that it wasn't from the making of Help!. I am sure it would have jogged my memory if Pattie was in one of the photos. Anyhow...thanks again for the help!
ReplyDeleteMy great grandfather was Walter Strach, sady i did not meet him
ReplyDeleteWondering if you are a descendant of Vivian or Barbara's? We were neighbours and friends with Walter and Susie Strach in Weybridge
DeleteVivian is my grandmother and Barbra is my great aunt!
