1969 Kinfauns

Thanks to Bruno for sharing this one (I hope it was okay to put on the blog).   I think this is the sweetest fan photo I have seen in a very long time.    It seems like we have seen George in these stripy pants before....time to look in the files!

  1. Very sweet! Those are the Mad Day Out pants, aren't they?

    1. When I looked through my files I discovered that George has several pairs of stripy pants and they are in different colors. Since this is a black and white photograph, it is hard to tell if they are the exact Mad Day Out pants, but they most likely are either the orange pair or the green pair.

    1. That was extremely uncalled for. She has on a big coat. And so what if she was overweight? No need to point it out. I am obese and I love the Beatles. I don't need anyone commenting on how I am their BIGGEST fan.

    2. Lennon makes the same joke in a cartoon in skywriting by word of mouth, page 152 Its just a joke!! Ive been overweight myself, lost some, gained some, etc etc. its never too late to make the best of yourself and being able to take yourself less seriously helps.

    3. George seems to be giving her dignity, and you should too, especially in such a beautiful pic.

And one thing I've learned from following this blog is that the people in the pics sometimes are on the blog and see themselves. I'm sure it's unlikely, but I would hate to hurt that particular fan's feelings if she found this page....especially this particular picture because she looks absolutely great, she looks beautiful, her face says it all...her face is telling the whole story about how George is treating her, she just looks great....and so does George, who is seemingly giving her respect and dignity.

The Beatles, skinny to the man, were certainly not above making fat jokes, I am well aware of this (or other kinds of jokes that aren't exactly "politically correct", don't know Brian must have felt all those years! I'll leave it at that!).....but we're not John. We're more like her, the fan. She represents us. And if George can give her dignity, than we can too.

(no exclamation points this comment!) (oops!)

  3. Yes, they are! The George's haircut seems to be the same of the Mad Day Out, too...

  4. That's it, that's the one, that is THE greatest photo ever posted!!!! Just cheered me up, Sara (and Bruno), thank you, I needed that, especially today! Look at that! Way cool. Way sweet. Definitely not grumpy George!

I still can't believe you could just show up at Kinfauns!

    1. This just might be my favorite fan photo of George. Although the one of George at Kinfauns with his hair in a bun is also a favorite. Oh...and there is a Pat 1969 one of him standing at the door...it is good too. Fan photos are just amazing in general!

    2. "Fan photos are just amazing in general!"

      Amen to that, sister!

I would never have known had it not been for this place!

Hey, also....I hadn't noticed that "uncalled-for comment" above....I don't know....something about the internet makes people lose their manners. Especially when you're anonymous. (by the way, it wasn't me who made that comment!!!)

I've got to get a screen name once and for all and register so not to be confused with other Anonymous's! (or is it Anonymousi?)

      I'll think of a good name! Fab-related!

For now, though, let's call the guy that made that uncalled-for comment "Mean Mr. Mustard"!

(there was a garage band in the 60s called The Uncalled For. Now there's a great name! HA!)
