Four years

Paul gives "Meet the Beatles...for real" a double thumbs up for being around for four years!

Yesterday was an anniversary.   No, it wasn't John and Yoko's or the anniversary of when George and John first played "Raunchy" on a bus.   Nothing nearly as important in Beatles history as that.   But it was the anniversary of when I first started this blog.   On March 9, 2009 I decided it would be a good idea to post photos and stories of fan who really met one or more of the Beatles in person.   It was supposed to be loosely based on fanzines of the 1970's, but more modernized.   That was the idea that I had and put into motion.

When I first started out, I had no idea if anyone would visit this blog.   But in my mind it seemed like a good idea, and like something that was missing in the online Beatles community.    We hadn't had a fan-centered sight in a long time.    Of course, as I have explained before, the main focus at that time was to keep myself busy after going through a rough time.

And now it is four years later and over 1 million hits have occurred on this blog!  Now I am sure that many of you come to visit often, and that isn't 1 million individual people.   Lord knows I visit this sight many, many times during a day, so I count for a lot of that, but still....I think that is pretty neat.

I want to thank everyone who has ever sent me a photo or a story to post, the ebay seller named Mary who has been very kind and when I lost that auction for the Harrison Alliance sent me a photo copy of it free of charge because she felt the story needed to be on this blog, all of the Apple Scruff who have been very nice to me and were willing to help me with some misconceptions and didn't yell at me for posting their stories, Lizzie for being so awesome, Bruno for sharing photos,  my anonymous friend who uses all the !!!! for always commenting and for sending me fanzines,  Susan for letting me talk at this past year's Fest, Miss Tammy for her support and photos, and to all the fans around the world who believed in me.   And I always have to thank our boys, John, Paul, George and Ringo.

What is to come at Meet the Beatles...for Real?   I have no idea!   But I am going to keep on posting photos and stories and hope that readers will keep sharing things with me.

Love to you all,
Sara S (Starshyne)
