  1. i took this photo outside apple in 1969 (too lazy to go look in the original slide for the date, sorry...) and that is anthony fawcett. who was john & yoko's assistant at the time. i love the way the sky is still blue in the background. with my very cheap plastic camera (copy of an instamatic bought at a boots drugstore), and the minimal amount of time we normally had to take photos, it's almost a miracle that i have so many good ones. there were some times when they posed for me, but that was not the norm. that's why there's so many entries in my diaries that say i took so many pictures of one of them and they are nowhere to be found: the just didn't come out - the flashcube failed to go off, or i didn't have a flash and it was getting dark, etc. luckily, photoshop saved several of those photos that at the time i thought were no good.

    1. Fantastic photo, Ms. Bravo, oh my gosh....you really were there! Unbelievable.

Odd question but....did John ever sing a bit of Dizzy Miss Lizzie to you?!!!! Listening to all these millions of John interviews, it always seems that when something can reference an old rock'n'roll song, John jumps right on it with a pun, or saying "Be Bop A Lula" or "Wop Bop A Loo Bop", etc. So with that in mind.....and you being Lizzie and all!....

    1. Oh my gosh! John christened you (in a way!)! It could have been Betty Bravo all this time!!! I love that! I almost didn't ask you because I thought you'd think it was stupid!! Little did I know! So you're Dizzy Miss Lizzie Bravo! (well...I don't know about the dizzy part! Dizzy from rockin' and rollin'....not dizzy like Marilyn Monroe dizzy!)

You know I was just listening to one of the first days of the Let It Be rehearsals at Twickenham....and George is saying how he just listened to his acetate of the "Across The Universe" recording and is saying how great it is with you singing on it! Have you heard that?? I'll get it to you at once if you haven't! John is expressing doubts about that recording, he wants to re-record it, but George is assuring him it's great the way it is.

I always wondered: were you disappointed when Let It Be came out and your vocals were missing? And had you already heard it on the Wildlife LP? Or did you not hear your version until years later?

(I can't believe it's really you! Right here!! Those vocals give me chills! They're so innocent and beautiful! A stroke of brilliance to invite you in to sing!)

    2. good lord, please send me that at once, i am biting all my nails in anticipation - i never heard that! can you send me an mp3 on sendspace or something like that? my e-mail is lizzie.bravo@gmail.com. thanks soooo much! in ray coleman's book john was not pleased at all with that recording. it didn't really bother me reading that since i know john couldn't possibly be mad at us two young girls. he was mad at paul because he would have liked the song to have a more elaborate production, and i can agree it could have - it's such an amazingly beautiful song. thanks so much for telling me. and i am still betty bravo to my family and people who knew me before the beatles.

    3. sorry about yesterday, i got so excited i forgot to answer your question: i heard our version of the song first on the radio, i believe in kenny everett's show (it's in my diary somewhere). then it took a long time to come out but i got the wildlife lp. i don't remember being disappointed when i heard the let it be version. an internet friend just sent me this link, where someone has corrected the pitch of the first version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNNr2zi9XWY

    4. Ms. Bravo, It would be an honor and a half to send you that little bit of chat! Give me a couple of days, I may be offline actually until Tuesday, but believe me, I will not forget!!!!!! In fact, I can't wait to send it to you! I have to find exactly where it is (I have over 80 hours of Let It Be rehearsals/sessions!), I know it happened on one of the first three days. So...stay tuned!!!!

  4. hi anonymous 2: i just finished the part about recording across the universe last night. i had written it years ago in english, but as i read it again i made a few changes here and there and it is now the way i wanted it. i went back to my original handwritten diary, denise's diary for that day and a letter i wrote my mother to make sure i had included everything. i am translating it to portuguese this morning. i wish i could tell you i know when it will be ready but i don't. i don't have a publisher, i am paying for everything myself. i have an amazing team of one fabulous designer, one photoshop expert and two people to proof read in portuguese and two in english. i still have some writing to do, but it's never been as close to being done than now - the portuguese version. of course if i won the lottery and didn't have to be a housewife and hold a job as a secretary it would go much faster! thanks for your interest, i really appreciate it.
