Lennon and Boyle

One of those interesting nuggets of trivia that is often over looked or forgotten is that fact that John Lennon was friends with actor, Peter Boyle.   They were such good friends that when Boyle married in 1977, John Lennon was the best man at the wedding.   John and Yoko along with Peter and his wife, Loraine were often seen out in New York in the mid to late 1970's and in Florida in February 1980.    There aren't a whole lot of photos of them together, but this one is supposedly from 1975.    Did anyone out there ever see these two men hanging out together in the 1970's?

  1. Those wedding photos would be good to see, quite possibly with video too? There must be tons of stuff still in private collections.

  3. Their wives were the main friends. Lennon thought Boyle wanted to be seen in public with him because it was a good career move. Lennon was reclusive so he resented being pressured to dine in public. Once in Florida he got quite nasty with Boyle because of this. Recounted in the book, "The Last Days of John Lennon" by Fred Seaman.

    1. Lennon was reclusive? Bulls**t. This was written by the same guy who duruing his one year of employment to John was robbing him blind.

    2. Fred Seaman is established to be a scumbag: why should I believe anything he says to sell his book.

  4. There is a photo of John playing chess with Boyle which was shown on the A&E biography of Peter Boyle.

  5. Lennon was also friends with Donald Pleasence in the seventies. Pleasense was known for being an outstanding cook and wine collector and would have Lennon and Yoko over for dinner and wine tasting.

  7. Yes. I lived in the same building on East End Ave in NYC. I used to see John and Yoko get out of a cab in the late 70's to visit Peter
    And Lorraine Boyle.
