Nothing's Gonna change my world

This is one of my all time favorite John photos. I am so happy that I won it off ebay (along with the photo of John in profile that I posted a couple of days ago) so that I now have it in beautiful color and in my Beatles photo album. Of course, this photo was taken on Feb. 4, 1968 the day when two amazing fans sang background on the song, "Across the Universe." Lizzie and Gayleen are the mega-super fans as far as I am concerned!

  1. Wonderful candid photo of John. I like the head tilted pose. Thanks Sara for sharing. Lizzie and Gayleen must have been on cloud nine that particular day:)

  3. Ah Lizzie! You finally figured out how to change your profile pic. There's hope for us all yet! Just when I think I get a piece of technology figured out, they go and update!

Are there any photos taken in the studio that day? What a story.

  4. hi nick! changing this photo was easy - went to my google profile. i also changed it on my skype profile, my linkedin profile, my orkut profile. what i just can't figure out is how to change my picture on tammy's blog! no, there are no photos taken inside the studio that day. i did have my cheap copy of an instamatic camera with me, but, two things: mal was taking tons of pictures, close-ups of us with the boys, with a very professional looking 35mm camera (the photos did not come out); and... it was our only moment of being a little more than just fans waiting outside. i just didn't want to ask for autographs or take pictures, as that what was i did all the time. of course it would have been totally FAB to have our photo taken with the 4 beatles, but i think you can understand...

  5. Thanks so much for your answer Lizzie! I've often wondered what it would be like to meet one of them and it usually involves me stuttering and drooling so it's probably just as well I never have! Ha!

Doesn't it seem like there should be a goldmine of stuff from the archives of Mal? I know that there's the silent films he did but the quality isn't that great unfortunately and I know there's all that stuff that was "lost" during the police investigation of his death but you'd think there'd be more than that. Coming to think about it, I'll bet Neil Aspinall's estate is sitting on a treasure trove eh?
