Sara, I'm posting in response to the other pic you've posted of the Beatles in dressing gowns reading fan mail. (I can't respond on that link for some reason). This was not taken at the Plaza when George was ill but the month before - January 1964 at the Georges V hotel, Paris. (I believe this is a Harry Benson photo). Note the pinao in the background - a piano was moved into their suite so John and Paul could work on songs for A Hard Day's Night soundtrack.
