Another one from that great photographer: Lizzie Bravo!

I have said for years that the reason why I love Beatles photos taken by fans is that they capture something special that the posed photos could never capture. In my personal opinion, no fan captured that special something as well as Lizzie Bravo. All of her photographs of the boys pull you into the photo as if you are there. It is amazing especially when you think of the lack of technology she had to work with compared to today.

So here is another John photo. It has been posted before, but much smaller. What is John wearing here? A green jacket? Another badge (sword swallower maybe?) and polka-dotted shirt? So fab!

  2. hi sara! i took many photos of john that day, his jacket was turquoise velvet, yellow polka dot shirt, green scarf and the sword swallower badge. black trousers, if i'm not mistaken. he came with that same outfit plus a white scarf another day. thank you for your compliments on my photos! my camera was a copy of an instamatic which i purchased at boots (pharmacy). i still have it! it has only ONE button, no other settings. when i read my diaries and see how many photos i took and how many actually came out - much less - i realize how hard it was to get a good picture, usually of a moving subject, in such a short time and with that kind of equipment!

  3. Hi Sara - I agree. LIzzie's photos have that certain "something". I feel very fortunate that she's so generous with her photos and her memories. I've been fortunate to enough to meet a few of the peripheral figures in the Beatles story (specifically Julian Lennon, Yoko and Mike McCartney) and exchanging the occasional comment within the confines of the blog with Lizzie on the odd occasion is just as rewarding. Can't wait for the book.

FYI - I follow this and Miss Tammy's blog for a few minutes every day and the wealth of information is astounding and never fails to amaze me. Keep up the great work! ps I always get a kick out of the photos taken on your Beatles trips with your mom.

  4. Nick...if I might suggest one other visit to Kenwood Blog. The two you mentioned, plus the Kenwood site, are, in my opinion, the three best going today.

  5. Oh yes, the Kenwood blog is great as well! I do not think THIS blog needs to be grouped with the likes of Kenwood and Miss Tammy, but I humbly appreciate kind words. And Nick thanks for enjoying the photos of my mom and I on our Beatle adventures. We are talking about doing another on in L.A. and seeing Blue Jay Way. :)
