2nd generation fans

I found this online this week at postsecret. Wow...someone sure has me pegged! I have been saying for the past 20 odd years that I should have been born in the 1950's and had been a teenager in the 1960's. I am sure I am not the only 2nd generation Beatles fan that feel this way. I know this totally isn't Beatles related but it hit home with me and I figured it would with many of you as well.

  1. I'm right there with ya! I'd heard of The Beatles pre-Anthology, but in '95 watching the specials as a 13 year old, I got hooked. For a long time I knew the Anthology versions of many of the songs better than the masters.
And then making buddies in AOL chat rooms ("BeatlesTea," anyone?), I realized I wasn't the only kid in the world who felt like he should have been born a long time before he actually was.

  2. I was born in '92 and I've known for a very long time that I was born with the wrong generation. I would do anything to have been a teenager in the 1960s!

  3. When I was about 15 (in 1991-1992 actually), it really hit me that I liked things of the 1960's better than modern things. I had been a Beatles fan for a couple of years before that, but for whatever reason I totally embraced the 1960's during that time in my life and I have never let go. My mom graduated high school in 1969. She lived in a very small mid-west town and had no idea the wonderful things going on in large towns. Although she did have the music to listen to and the Beatles stuff to buy at her local dime store!

In 1995 I was a regular in the irc chat #Beatles (anyone at all around here from those days? I would love love love to get back in touch with my old internet pals from #Beatles). It was such a wonderful place to chat and felt like I belong somewhere.
