Hairspray

Just a note to let all of you blog readers know that July is going to be a very busy month for me. Besides the Beatles, my favorite hobby is acting in community theater. It is difficult with my job and just normal day to day life to squeeze in doing plays, but I try to do one show a year. I am currently in the musical Hairspray at my local community theater. We are starting on the dress rehearsals and the show runs for 2 weeks at the end of July. I have a small part this time as the gym teacher and matron of the jail. For the next three weeks, all of my time and energy will be at with the theater and I will not have time to update this blog as frequently as I normal update it. I will try to get a few photos posted whenever I can this month, but please be understanding. As always, keep sending me those photos and stories through email and I will post them as soon as I have time.

Hope you all are enjoying the summer (or whatever season it may be where you are located)

  1. *sorry, as an update to that, I suddenly wondered if the term was used in the US.

If not, it's theatre slang for "good luck".

Wouldn't want you to think I was wishing you ill! :)

  3. Thanks Lizzie....it is just community acting but it is fun. This play takes place in 1962, which is sort of a strange thought for me because it is "pre-Beatles" (at least in Baltimore where the play takes place). Pretending to live in a place without the Beatles is sort of hard to do. LOL!

And Mark...we do say "Break a leg" here. I guess it is a term used everywhere. Thanks for the well-wishes.
