It was today in 1975 that the Beatles long time friend and roadie, Mal Evans died. Those who are regular visitors to this blog know that Mal is my personal favorite "other" person in the Beatles story. I wouldn't go as far as calling him the "5th Beatle" but I would say that he is in the top 10. Mal remained a loyal friend to the four guys the entire time and he always was in the background. So in memory of Mal and the kindness he especially showed the fans that waited endless for the Fab 4, here are some fan photos that have him in it. Love you Mal!

ReplyDeletehi, a friend, mal was funny and really nice to us fans. of course, there were times when he had to tells us to move away and stuff like that. there was a time when george said "give them a break, mal!". all i have are good memories of him.
ReplyDeleteTim ~ None of the Beatles attended the funeral, but George took financial care of his family after his death. RIP, Mal.
