All I've got in a photograph

While this is a nice photo of George at the Apple offices, I am more interested in the photo behind him. Anyone know anything about it? I would guess that it was taken in 1965. Who is the girl? Why was this photo hanging in the Apple offices in 1969? It must have had some special meaning....anyone know?

  1. I'm pretty sure that's Derek Taylor's office - he had a big wicker chair. Chris O'Dell talks about it in her book.

Actually, I did some googling and found this pic of Mary Hopkin sitting in the chair - and it's definitely the same room - you can see the Beatles pic on the wall here too!

  2. Oh, sorry - meant to post the caption from that link too - "Mary Hopkin is the centre of attention in the Apple Press office, Beatles PR guru Derek Taylor, whose wicker peacock chair was a gift from Herb Alpert, looks on."

I guess it makes sense for there to be Beatles photos up in their press office. Can't quite make out the other photos on the wall.

Yes it's Derek's office. And no, it's not Joan Taylor, it's Freda Kelly, the Beatles original UK fan club secretary. The photo was taken backstage at the Liverpool Empire Theatre in December 1965. I believe it used to hang on the wall in the NEMS offices in Argyll Street and then moved to the Apple offices.

  10. Yeah , that´s Freda Kelly.
I thought that she would be Maureen Cleave.

  11. If you google Freda Kelly in Google Images you will see she is not this girl.

Starting at .45 seconds John talks about a book he read then remembers it was Truman Capote.
I wish I knew what book he was talking about.
It's was in regard to his own sexual addictions.
