I can't belive that I haven't posted this photo of Lizzie and John before, but I have searched the archives and hadn't found it, so here it is! Wonderful photo, even if it is a little fuzzy. It still puts a big smile on my face (and after the difficult day I had at work, I need a smile!)
Hi Sara! This is a scan from my own copy. All I have is this cropped version (it has no borders, it was cut) and I have asked around and no one knows who took it! I wish I had a better copy of it. I took fantastic photos of many of my friends with their favorite Beatle, even people who were only there for a couple of days, but I don't have a good, posed photo with John. My friend Denise took 2 of him and me in Kenwood where he put his arm around me, and I did the same, on a beautiful sunny day - but she messed around with the 35mm camera and only shadows came out (opened the lens and too much light came in). The whole rest of the film, of us on the train going there and back came out perfect. But I remember feeling his heartbeat and trying to breathe together with him (who could ask for more?), since my friend was having trouble with the camera and it took a while (if it was my cheap Boots instamatic there would be no buttons to press but one!). Memories, memories...

Thanks Lorie. I know I was extremely lucky to have seen him so many times. I loved looking right into his gorgeous brown eyes, which is what I'm doing in this photo. Still love him as always.
ReplyDeleteYou were so lucky Lizzie to have been in London and Weybridge at such an important period. And to think The Beatles were so accessable and Kenwood was so easy to get to. Looking forward to the book!
