Fans standing outside 3 Saville Row in London reading about the break-up of the Beatles. I was thinking about how today bands don't seem to formally "Break-up." Actually The Beatles are the only band that I seriously think made a formal "break up" statement (who are others?). One of my favorite bands is one that no one ever heard of, The Waiting. They stopped performing and recording together seven years ago. However, they recently got back together and are working on another album. They never really "broke up." They just worked on solo projects and stuff for a few years and got back together as a band. That is how band seem to work frequently. The fans in these photo don't appear to be too upset over the news. I wonder if they just didn't believe it was true.
i can recognize some of my friends in this photo. sara, for us who had been standing outside for all that time, it was pretty obvious they were going to end. i wasn't a bit surprised or even upset. it just seemed like the natural thing to happen.
