Angry John

I really wish that I had larger copies of these photos. I also wish I knew what exactly was going on here. From what I understand, John was mad at Paul (during the Get Back sessions?) and jumped the fence to Paul's house then he threw something (a rock or a brick?) through Paul's window.

Can anyone clear this one up for me?

    Wait. I can't be seeing this.

    There was a scene very much like this in the god awful Linda McCartney Story tv movie. It was the worst/best movie I've ever seen, it was so bad. Paul was portrayed as a total angel, and John as the damn devil (and Yoko as a racist stereotype).

    In it, John was angry because Paul forgot his birthday (this during the time when they wouldn't invite each other to their weddings). So he stormed into Paul's house and yelled (Angel Paul of course felt awful), then grabbed a drawing that he had made for Paul, which Paul had lovingly framed on his wall, and broke it. Then he ran outside, threw brick through Paul's window, and ran away like a 10-year-old.

    You CAN'T possibly be telling me that there is some kind of truth to this utterly ridiculous scenario. Can you? Please dear god tell me you're not.

    as far as i know, and i wasn't there that particular day, paul wasn't answering the bell because the fans had been ringing it so john had to climb over the gate to get into paul's house. i'll write to the girls and see if anyone who was there can give me more details.

    Oh, I like Lizzie's explanation! That makes a million times more sense. Unless I hear otherwise, I'm going to tell myself that this is what happened :)

    i thought this was on paul´s birthday and pauol wasn´t home or wasn´t awnsering the door so john jumped over the wall to see if he´s in... or the other story goes that when john&yoko were living at cavendish john found a note that said something nasty about yoko and so john got mad... never heard of the brick thing though...

    I am not sure where I heard the thing about the brick or rock. There are always so many stories going around about John and Paul. It is nice to learn the truth. I still wish I had those photos a little larger.

    Hi there this is my first post although i have been a watcher of this and the Kenwood blog site for a while now. I read recently in a Beatle book about a session during the Abbey Road recordings whereby Paul ran out crying back to Cavendish Road to be followed by John, who then proceeded to shout up at the house to Paul to come out and then hurl a stone at a window, this might be that story. But i cant tell by the photo whether John has a beard or not which i assume he had during the Abbey Road sessions. If not then it has to be an earlier incident. Keep up the good work, Chris. York,UK

    Hello Chris! Thanks for watching this blog and for commenting! I have many books about Beatles sessions. Maybe I read that same book and story about throwing the stone. I now think these photos are of an earlier incident (maybe John just jumping the fence because Paul wouldn't answer the bell because of the fans?).
