May did such a nice job capturing father and son here. That is such a genuine smile from John looking at Julian. Please don't tell me that this is A.I. Why do I have a feeling that it isn't really a May Pang photo and is A.I.? Maybe because I have never seen a photo where John's hair was wavy like that? Maybe because John's hand looks weird. I want this to be a real photo though.
Hi Sara, you're right, it looks a little strange, but it is a real May Pang photo, you can find it with to similar pictures in her book „Instamatic Karma" (black & white and smaller).

ReplyDeleteThey’re right—it’s a photo taken by May Pang in 1974, but the original was cropped tighter; someone thought it would be a good idea to "complete" it using AI, but—as usual—there are too many fingers.
ReplyDeleteI wish people would stop using A.I. to "complete" photos. There is no reason for it and it just confuses things.
