The Beatles escaped unhurt last night when a police van rushed them away from a theater in Lyon, France, colliding with a car. The van overshot red lights to get away from a teenage mob pursuing the Beatles and hit the car with a French couple inside. John Lennon was thrown to the floor. The other Beatles held on to the side of the police van.
