I love these shots from the party at the Hippopotamus Club after the opening of the Sgt. Pepper musical because ti shows you more than just John, but sort of the whole picture.
He was a drunk louse to May that night though, as evidenced by the photo of him making out with one of the case members later that night (not to mention her own remembrances)
But great photos! Probably exactly the type of scene he went out of his way to avoid like the plague during his last five years.
The late, great Robert Stigwood is also in all but the top photo.
