A woman from Bolton is hoping to share memories of yesterday with Paul McCartney when he wows Manchester tonight. Terry Turner, age 59, got to know the Beatles after meeting Ringo Starr then drumming with  Rory Storm and the Hurricanes while holidaying in Butlins in the  early 1960s

She snapped up a ticket for McCartney's t gig at Sheffield Highland Aena last Saturday, hoping to present the star with a photo of her backstage with him and John Lennon during the Beatles appearance at Leigh Casino in 1963.

Mrs. Turner of  Lostock is one of the co-founders of the music magazine Bolton Beat Scene. She had arranged with McCartney's management to hand over a copy of the treasured photo, which also features two unidentified women after the concert. Her plans were scuppered when he canceled the gig at the last minute after losing his voice.

Now, she is desperately hoping to get hold of a sought-after ticket for McCartney's show at the MEN Arena tonight. She said, "People were absolutely on the floor about the Sheffield gig being canceled, but I'm hoping for a second bite at the cherry."

"I wouldn't say I was just a fan of the band. I actually hung around with them. I remember talking to them the first time  Love Me Do was broadcast on Radio Luxembourg. They were over the moon, but I never guessed they would be as big as they were. I thought they would keep playing all the local gigs."
