One of the saddest days in Beatles history



That little fan holding her autograph book has no idea that John is standing there in Pattie Boyd's shawl in total shock because he just learned that Brian Epstein had died.     Such a sad photograph.

    Knowing the background increases the pathos of the picture: the fan is excited and all smiles, and John is numb.
