Dancing at Sibyllas
The question has been asked for many, many years: Is Paul McCartney in this photograph? It was taken at the opening of Sibyllas nightclub in 1966.
I found a great article about Sibyllas online. Just don't pay attention to the Paul is Dead stuff elsewhere on the sight (unless you are into that).

Guitar lessons
I do not know anything about this photo. I am not sure who the girl is in the photo or when it was taken, but I still like it!

Oh Ringo....
Any idea when this photo of Ringo was taken? Maybe when he worked at Butlins with the Hurricane's? Maybe something totally different all together? I just hope that Ringo was in a play or a skit or something and didn't dress like an African woman on the regular back then.

Mendips
This is a new one to me. Does anyone know who the girl with John is? I love photos taken at Mendips!

Is this Pattie Emerson?
One of the first stories that I posted on this blog was the one of 14 year old fan named Pattie Emerson. Pattie traveled to London in 1967 and ended up meeting Paul, Ringo and George (as well as Jane and Mike). Her story was printed in Datebook in two issues and her photos are now legendary.
Last week someone on a blog posted this photo and said that they were pretty sure that it was Pattie Emerson standing on the left of Paul.
I had this photo in my files for years and I never once thought that was Pattie E. Although the time period would be correct and it does sort of look like her. What do you think??
For comparison, here is Pattie standing with George and outside of Kinfauns.
And here are the photos of Paul that Pattie took. He is not wearing the same shirt as the above photo right? Unless the coloring is wrong on the top photo, but even then the flowers look larger. But then Pattie could have met Paul on more than one occasion when she was in London.
What do you think? Is it her or not?

The Mystery has been solved....maybe?
Well, I guess we can stop looking for the fans in that photo that Ringo has been trying to figure out the identities to. Someone from Boston has came forward to say that they were former classmates of his at a high school in New Jersey.
The fans names are Gary Van Dursen (driving), who has sadly passed away, Robert Toth (in the passenger seat), Charles Schwartz (leaning out the car window), Matty Blender (girl on the left) who sadly has also passed away and Arlen Norbe Ressler (the girl on the right). Interestingly enough the young man in the far back, the one that Ringo is the most interested in, was not named.
The story was that these young people skipped school on February 7, 1964 to see the Beatles at the airport. They missed seeing the Beatles and started to drive back home, when they saw four limousines. They thought they might be for a funeral, but come to find out they were for the Beatles. (I have never known the Beatles to each have his own limo....SS). They rolled down the window to get a closer look inside and Ringo rolled down the window to get a closer look at them and then he snapped the photo.
I find it interesting that while Ringo thought the photo was taken in Miami, this information is from New York, as I suspected.
This sounds basically like a solved mystery, however when someone did some detective work, they discovered that none of the names given could be found in a 1964 yearbook of that school. So it is still somewhat of an unsolved mystery, but getting closer to finding out the truth.

What year?
Someone on tumblr sent me this photo along with a question about the year. I have to admit that I am not sure. As this Beatle fan pointed out, John looks like John from the late 1960's, but Yoko looks like she did around the time she gave birth to Sean in 1975. It also appears that they are in New York City. Does anyone have any information about this photo? Check out the kids playing the background...gotta love that!

Man of Mystery
So I bought this photo off ebay. Yes I spent waaaay more than I intended to, but oh well. I think not getting that John Lennon photo ticked me off so much that I wasn't going to let the next one slip away. So I bought this Paul photo (along with two photos of Paul in concert) and it is a mystery to me.
The photo was taken by someone named "Jenny V." who was from Oxnard, California. According to the ebay seller, he purchased a Beatles collection from this woman who was a Beatles fan club president in California. On the back of the photo Jenny has written, "Taken in Kentucky while on tour." Now we Beatle fans all know that the Beatles never went to Kentucky on any of their U.S. tours. Since they mostly flew from place to place, I do not think they ever even drove though Kentucky. However, I think this girl, Jenny was trying to be funny. She has some "funny" captions written on the back of other photos. So I don't think she seriously meant to say that it was Paul in Kentucky.
There are some numbers on the back of the photo, which I thought said "Aug 08" but the guys weren't on tour in the U.S. on Aug 8. So that didn't help either.
If any of you know Jenny or can help shed some light on this photo, please do so. I don't even know what year the photo was taken!
And if you can't help, I hope you at least enjoy this photo that hasn't been seen by a whole lot of people (I hate it when a photo is called "never before seen" because obviously SOMEONE saw the photo!).
When you spread this around the internet tomorrow, please try to remember where you found the photo. :)

Go Karts
Here is Paul on a go-kart. Can anyone tell me more about this photo? It does not look like the traditional Beatles Go-kart photos from 1963 taken by Dezo Hoffman. When was this? Where was it?

Solved mystery? Maybe....
I scanned the top photo from a fanzine (I think it was a Yoko one that the wonderful anonymous commenter who uses ! a lot sent) and I wasn't 100% convinced that it was John. It is so hard to be sure with those grainy black and white photocopies. But then the bottom photo was posted on facebook today. I believe it is a screen shot from a home video of John, Yoko and Sean. The screen shot photo makes me now think that the photocopy photo really is John. What do you think?

What year is this?
I now have a pretty large lot of John, Ringo and Paul photos that I will be sharing over the next month or so. Some of these have been posted before, but only in black and white. Others are brand new to this blog, including this one. It is the by far the most interested in the group. It actually look me a bit to locate John. His hair seems to be short, like it was in the spring of 1973 during the Watergate hearings. I do not know who the two people who are close to the camera are. Anyone know anything about this one?

That perm....
This photo has been making the rounds lately. Does anyone know anything about it? Where was it taken? Who took it? Etc etc. And I have to say that George and the perm was not the best combination.

Riding in a car with boys
When I had this set of photos in teeny tiny version, I thought Ringo was sitting next to Paul. Now I obviously can see that is NOT Ringo Starr! Who is it then?

Don't Bother Me
Anyone have any information about this photo? I bought it at the Fest in a stack of photos for $8. I almost didn't even notice this one, as it was sort of stuck to another one. The guy with George looks really mad and George himself doesn't look too pleased to be photographed.

Horn Rimmed Glasses
I have to thank friend of the blog, The Gilly for locating this photo. Does anyone know anything about it? The only known information is that it has someone named Graham Barry in the photograph. Anyone?

Memphis on my mind
These photos were taken in Memphis, Tennessee aboard the Mississippi Queen Riverboat. Musician Sam Shoup is also in one of the photos. The Mississippi Queen Riverboat is quick to advertise that Ringo was a guest on their boat, but no one says when this happened. I would guess that these were from 1987 when Ringo was in Memphis recording the album that will never be released. However, a performance of any type in Memphis in 1987 is not mentioned in Badman or 8 Arms to Hold you. If they were indeed taken around the times Ringo was in Memphis in 1987, then they were either taken in February or April of that year.
Anyone have any ideas?

George upgrade
Bob sent along this upgraded George photo (slightly larger without a watermark) that he found many moons ago on a blog. There is still no real answer as to when this photo was taken exactly. However, most of us agree upon the year 1966. And the general agreement is that it most likely was taken in September of that year in India.

Guitar playing George
So who here can tell me about this photo? Where was it taken? What year was it? And how is it possible for George and Dhani to look so much alike?

An evening out with Lennon 1977
This photo appeared recently on the Beatles solo photo forum as an unknown date photo. It is new to me! It looks like it could have been taken the same day in January 1977 when John and Yoko went to the Plaza hotel in New York and signed legal papers. There are many Bob Gruen photos taken that day as well as a photo I recently posted of John in a car from that day. He seems to be wearing this shirt, so I wonder if it was taken afterwards? Anyone know who the people with John happen to be?
