Magical Mystery and Talisman
I just got a new computer. It is a touchscreen All-in-one and I am trying to figure it all out. So I hope this blog doesn't seem like too much of a mess, because everything here on my end looks extremely different than it did on my old computer.
Anyhow, I am going through my old files and I found this photo of John from 1967. I don't recall having this photo before. Two fans appear behind him. He is wearing the "Magical Mystery tour" coat of many colors jacket and his Talisman necklace. What is that book in his hand? Anyone know when or where this photo was taken? From the information I gather from clicking on it, it appears that I got this photo from an eBay auction in June of 2006.

The Grapefruit jacket
Here is a great photo of John Lennon at one of the 1971 London signing of Yoko's book, Grapefruit. The jacket that John is wearing this day was up for auction a while back. I recognized it right away. I know John wore this jacket frequently during the "Imagine" period, but I think of it as the "Grapefruit" jacket.

Another one of Paul in the jacket!

Bless you Gina for all of the wonderful scans you have provided this blog over the past many months. Last night I stated that I had never seen Paul in the white pin-striped jacket that he was wearing in the fan photo with Ringo. Lizzie commented that she remembers him wearing it, but there might not be any other photos of him in it. Well.....dear Gina was sweet enough to send me another photo of Paul wearing the same jacket. I have no idea why I have this strange interest in the Beatles jackets. Mostly because I think the fashions of the 1960's is amazing, and I think all of the various jackets they wore are so much neater than clothing men wear today.. Thanks again to Gina and to Lizzie!

More of the velvet jacket....

The lovely Miss Tammy just posted these photos recently and I am SURE all of you are frequent visitors of the wonderful Beatles Photo blog and have seen these there. However, they are worth repeating over here at this measly little attempt of a blog to be as cool as Miss Tammy because several girls who were there in 1968 to see Paul in that beautiful red velvet jacket do read this blog and maybe if we are lucky one of them might share with us what happened on those steps!

I get by with a little help from my friends....

All of you who read this blog just amaze me. I often wonder how many people out there in cyberland are actually reading this, but it just really makes me happy to know that others share my love of Beatles fan photos. Anyhow......last night I posted two photos of Ringo in 1967 in a blue/green jacket. In less than 24 hours from that post, I received cleaner copies of the photo in question photos. Anibal from Spain sent in one and informs me that the photograph was taken on September 28, 1967 (I checked and it appears that the guys were working on I am the Walrus that night). And the Jason from Tracks (Yes...the Tracks Beatles people that I check out their web page ALL of the time and have for years and years) also sent me a copy of the photo. Wow! Thanks to both of you!

What color is Ringo's jacket anyhow?

Two photos taken at obviously the same time. However, the top photo shows Ringo wearing a green jacket and the bottom one is blue. I belive the bottom one is correct and Ringo has a blue jacket. The top photo must have fade over time. But it is still a beautiful Ringo photo!

Paul "leather" jacket

During the "Broadstreet" years, Paul McCartney was often seen wearing a leather jacket. But obviously the mega-veggie Paul that you and I adore would not been ever seen wearing REAL leather. So obviously this isn't a real leather jacket that Paul was wearing during that time. Still it amazes me how often you saw him wearing this jacket. Paul seems to be someone that gets hooked on one article of clothing and wears for a long time.

Sgt. Pepper John
OJ1,T%21ZBMjSSHR%28cQ%7E%7E_12.jpg)
Here is a photo that according to ebay is from the Lizzie Bravo files! I personally am loving this photo because John is wearing the coat that I saw on display in Liverpool this summer and flipped out over seeing. I can't even begin to imagine how I would have acted if I had seen John Lennon actually wearing the coat!!
