Paul draws Pattie

This is such an interesting item.   And it is available (where else?) on ebay right now.     This really does show how kind the Beatles girls were to the fans.   Pattie had her own career in 1965 and the last thing she HAD to do was calling her boyfriend's fans in the United States and chatting with them for hours.    And yet that is exactly what Pattie was doing....calling up fans and chatting with them and putting John or George on the phone with them if the timing was right.    And yet Pattie feels badly for one particular fan named Kathryn from Michigan.  It seems that when Pattie rang her up one day, Kathryn got a bit tongue tied and didn't know what to say.   I am sure MANY of us would have became the same way.   Kathryn might have hung up feeling embarrassed and like she missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime, but because of her shyness,  Pattie sent her a very special gift.   Paul had drawn a pencil sketch of Pattie (I have no clue why) and signed it on the bottom.   Pattie signed it on the top and passed it along to Kathryn.  Wow!   I can't make this stuff up!   Sometimes this Beatles fan history just blows my mind.

Just a side note:   I had to laugh when I read the part in Pattie's letter about John and George going to the dentist at 9pm.    We ALL know today what type of special dentist these two had in 1965!

Remember to make things larger so that you can read them, you can click on the image.   If anyone is still have problems reading the letter, please let me know and I will transcribe it.

You can buy Ringo's autograph

Three years ago Ringo signed 75 Timberland boots in support of Water Aid and they were sold on ebay.   I was fortunate enough to have won pair number 66 of the boots and they are my most prized possession.

Ringo is back at it again this year.   Once again he has teamed up with Timberland and Water Aid  and this time he has signed 25 jackets.  They are currently on ebay and the bidding is currently going on.   So if you have always wanted to own a Ringo autograph, here is your chance.   As we all know, Ringo will only autograph things for charity and sometimes his autographs go for a lot more money than what these jackets most likely are going to go for.    Best to luck!

Venus, Mars and Linda

Where do you think these were taken?  Obviously not New Orleans (which I had tough when I just had seen the bottom photo) since a fan is wearing an amazing Venus and Mars t-shirt.
These were from an ebay auction.

Young George

This is a beautiful photo of George that is for sale on ebay right now.   I just think it is a stunning photo of him!

So there misbelievers

This was on ebay a couple of weeks ago.  I lost the auction, but I wanted to share it.   I just love this story that was written on the back of the picture.   So there misbelievers!   I guess when this girl got back home from her vacation, no one believed that she met the Beatles.

“1965”
This picture was picked up while we stopped on a city tour, we were in New York City on vacation on (sic) it just so happened The Beatles started their 1965 tour in the same city, we were on a N.Y.C. tour when we passed the Ed Sullivan studio and girls were everywhere yelling but I had to stay on the bus and finish the tour which ended in two hours!   It was terrible knowing The Beatles were right there yet some nut wanted to show you the stupid city.   Finally after the tour was over (bus tour) we were let out in the middle of town, not knowing which end of town to go to,  I talked Mom into some window shopping (I had beatles shopping on my  mind). Lucky for me I picked the right end of town.  When we did reach the Ed Sullivan studio I said, “Gosh look what’s here.”  But Mom said she knew I planned it, but she let me stay. We didn’t get in, we just saw Paul and Ringo a couple of times.  But the next day (the day we were to see them in person at Shea Stadium), Mom and I got into their hotel  and got their autographs.  They are really four fab guys.  They aren’t a bit stuck on themselves (I think).
P.S. I have proof of this story, autographs, tickets and pictures.  So there misbelievers.

Wings over Liverpool

This autograph along with the story and photo of the house is available on ebay.   I just think it is a nice little back-story about the autograph.    Paul and Linda (and the kids I am sure) staying with Paul's aunt in Liverpool while they were in town for the Wings concert.   Here Paul is a major rock star and yet he stays with his aunt when he is in Liverpool.    Then some fans hear about where Paul is staying and they go to her house and out comes Paul and Linda, making the "Wings" sign and happy to chat and sign for them.    I also included some backstage Liverpool 1975 photos just because I wanted to.

These are the New York Times....

This is wonderful.   John is trying to blend in with the crowd of folks going to see the Statue of Liberty in New York.   But yet John Lennon doesn't blend it.   He stands out in a crowd!   Yet no one is bothering him or freaking out.    Little do these people know that John is about to take one of the most iconic photographs....him with the peace sign at the base of the Statue of Liberty.   This is just so cool!

You can buy this photo on ebay right now.    Although I bet you can guess who the top bidder is right now.

You could pass for the originals

Here are two very nice ebay auction photos of John (and part of Ringo) that were taken in Houston during the press conference there in 1965.   John looks like he is being very serious here.

Short haired couple

This autographed photo is currently up for auction on ebay.    It is an interesting item for sure.  The signature is believed to have been signed by John in 1975 during the Helping Hands marathon.  That does not explain why someone wrote 1974 (summertime) on the back of the photo.  The explanation given was that photo itself was taken in 1974 and the person got the autograph on the back in 1975.  That sounds good if you were someone who didn't know Lennon history.   Obviously the photo was not taken in 1974.   In the summer of 1974 John and Yoko were separated and while they still were in contact with each other, they most definitely were not photographed together.   Any photos of John with a woman from the summer of 1974 would have been May Pang.   Plus John and Yoko didn't not have short hair in 1974.   This is the look they had when they were growing their hair  back after cutting it all off in early 1970.   This is more the "Power to the People" time period.

A day at the pool

Here is another recent ebay find.   Lovely photo for the guys at the pool in Miami.

Congratulations to the lucky couple

Photo removed at the request of the copyright holder :(
Boo!  I tried to win the copyright to this photo so that it could be online for all to see.   It wasn't meant to be.

The lucky couple is whoever these people are who are posing with John Lennon!   Do you think this is a wedding photo?  (The bride wore black?).   I do not know the story behind the photo and sure would love to know more!   John  had a photo shoot in 1975 where he wore that hat and clothing and necklace.   So I would guess it was taken that same day.   Amazing!    This photo is on ebay right now.

Live Peace in Toronto

New photo is for sale on ebay right now.   No comments from me on the price.   They say that this is John smoking pot.   I am not sure what he is smoking.   But it is a nice, color photograph.     Yoko seems to be wearing a dress that is long, which she didn't do very often.   And she has on the headband to cover up the scar from the car accident.

Typical New Yorker

I KNEW 2013 was going to be a good Beatle year!   Look at the photo that just appeared on ebay!   Typically when I locate a photo, I might try to clean it up a bit and savor it for myself for a couple of days before I share it with the world.  However, this one is too good to keep to myself.    Eeeek!!!

Now I would say that this looks like the Fall of 1976 just by going with John's hair and glasses.  But I am terrible on dating late 1970's John because those years blend together a bit for me.

Why is that woman not looking at John?   Could you imagine walking in New York City and there is John!?   Well I know that some of you can imagine it happening, because you witnessed it yourselves.   But the idea just blows my mind.

Happy weekend.....will be back in a couple of days.

Who are those guys?

On ebay for the next several hours is this photo.    The story told is that a woman was vacationing in Miami in February 1964 and saw these four guys getting their photo and saw a crowd around them and figured they must be famous and took her own photograph of them.    Then later discovered that she took a photo of the Beatles.    I am not sure how much I actually buy this story.   If she didn't know who they were, why did she get so close and get such a perfect shot?    Regardless, it is neat seeing this more candid version of a photo that was taken during a well-known photo shoot.   And for $350 this photo can be yours!

That'll be the Day

Ringo and Nancy arriving at the premier of Ringo's movie "That'll be the Day" in 1974.  This photo is currently for sale on ebay, where the seller incorrectly says that Ringo is with his wife, Barbara.

Koala Bear (stuffed)

Here is another photo that is currently available on ebay.   I love how the fan had to write on the bag how Ringo was presented with a STUFFED Koala Bear.   Didn't want anyone to think that Ringo was presented with a live one.   And dear fan....The Beatles toured Australia in 1964....not 1965.  Good try.

Starkeys and a McCartney

This is a really great photo!    Here is Ringo with his mum and step dad posing along with Paul.   Never seen this one before!  It is available right now on ebay.

Police Headquarters

Here the Beatles are posing with the police at the Philadelphia police during the 1964 tour.   This photo is for sale on ebay right now.   I  bet those police officers went home to some jealous daughters that night!
