The Guinness Hall of Fame

On May 26, 1986 - Paul McCartney was inducted into the Guinness Book of World Record's Hall of Fame for his song, "Yesterday."    Here is what Club Sandwich had to say about the event:

Paul and Linda thoroughly enjoyed the preceding reception and lingered long at the buffet afterwards, happy to be snapped in company with the other celebrities. Each member of the Hall of Fame later received a gold medal. The citation on Paul’s reads as follows: “His unparalleled contribution to popular music as a composer and artiste includes 43 one million sellers, 67 gold discs and ‘Yesterday’, the most recorded song ever written.”

About Flippin' time

October 20, 2000

Could it really have been 20 years since this moment?    Stella McCartney wins the VH1 Vogue award and her Dad embarrassed her a bit by showing up with a t-shirt that says "About Flippin Time."   This is in response to a slightly similar t-shirt Stella wore when her Dad was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Really thought --- 20 years already???

BMI award

Somehow I don't think Paul won the Body Mass Index award, although he does win a lot of awards, so you never know.

(Note:  This is a joke.  I am being silly for those of you out there that take everything literal.  I know what BMI Pop awards are)

John meets Green Weenie

So I found this photo in a newspaper archive and  I realize that it is TERRIBLE.  However, it is a great photo from the 1966 tour.  Who knew that the Beatles actually won the Green Weenie award?  They must have been so proud.

All I wanna do is have some fun

When the World Music Awards was in Monte Carlo in 1995, Ringo presented an award to Sheryl Crow.   I used to have this on VHS.
