Thank you lucky stars

On March 28, 1965 the Beatles performed their last television performance on the popular "Thank your Lucky Stars" program.   They mimed their way through three songs:  Eight Days A Week, Yes It Is and Ticket To Ride.

I am sort of surprised that the fans were allowed to sit so close to them.   Some of those girls looks dangerously close to Ringo.   

Sullivan take 2

At the Fest this past weekend I just happened to sit near a woman who saw the Beatles live on the Ed Sullivan Show in Miami in 1964.    She said that she was staying at the Deauville Hotel during a vacation with her parents and she was 15 years old.  They had no idea that the Beatles were going to be there.    She said that since the audience of the Sullivan Show were just hotel guests, that many of them were older.   So that made it much easier for her to watch the Beatles rehearsal and get their autographs.  She took photos of the rehearsals that she showed me (they were amazing!).    She said that as much as she loved the Beatles being there, it was sort of nice when they left because they could enjoy the hotel.   When the Beatles were there places like the pool were off limits to the other guests.   

Shea fans

I love this fan shot from the 1966 Shea Stadium concert.   It doesn't look like an empty house to me.  I love the sign that someone made wishing John and Cyn a happy anniversary.  And I really love the girl who is trying to escape the audience and get to the Beatles. 

Last time on stage together

I love the photos from the concert at the Lyceum show, but this one is especially awesome because it shows John and George playing on stage together.

I like how we can see some of the audience in this photo.   This appears to be Houston 1965.   

The Chicago Screamer

This is a great photo of fans in at the Beatles concert in Chicago in 1966.  I love seeing the program sitting on fan's lap and the guy in the cap with the banner and of course our screamer holding on to the railing.   I love this one!

Fans starting to get out of control

Some of the comments posted recently mentioned this show, which inspired me to locate this photo.   I love seeing the audience in the photo.
