Grammy awards for Martin

From the 1970's look of this photograph, I would say that this has been from when George Martin won the award for Beatles Instrumental Arrangement in 1974 for "Live and Let Die."     George Martin won 8 Grammy awards in his life---and he should have won many more.   He won his first one in 1968 for Sgt. Pepper.

Geoff's Pepper Grammy

Ringo was the only Beatle in town in 1968 (with the others still in India) to give Geoff Emrick the Grammy he won for  engineering Sgt. Pepper.

Lifetime achievement award

Can you  believe it has been over 20 years since Paul McCartney won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammy's?    And he has achieved more since he got the award.   Think they gave it too him too soon?

Paul and Linda at the 1970 Grammy's

In 1970, Paul and Linda were on hand to accept the Grammy award for Let It Be, which is full of irony because Paul did not approve of the Phil Spector produced end product.   But at least ONE of the Beatles was there to get the award.

World Music Grammy Award

In April 1994, during a concert that celebrated Ravi Shankar's 75th birthday, George Harrison had the honor of presenting V.M. Bhatt the Grammy for best World Music album  for the album "A Meeting by the River."  I sure wish I knew what was said because it looks like George was so happy.   However, I am extremely grateful for the fan who took these photos so that we all can share in George presenting this award 26 years later.

Paul's Lifetime acheivement Grammy

Last night Dhani Harrison accepted the Grammy's Lifetime Achievement award for his father, George Harrison.    Paul and John have already been awarded this award.   Paul was the first to get it in 1990 and John in 1991.    As a Beatles fan, I was a little shocked in 1990 when Paul won because...he still had a lot of his life left to live!    And sure enough he has done a lot more in the past 25 years.   Here are some photos from the 1990 Grammy's

Grammy Awards 1975

John and Yoko made their first public appearance together since mid-1973 at the 1975 Grammy awards.   I think a lot of fans were surprised but happy to see that John was happy.

Post Beatles Grammy

Isn't it really strange that the Beatles win a Grammy award for Best Music for Let it Be, the very album that Paul disliked the final product.   And yet, Paul was the only member of the Beatles present to receive the award?     Discuss amongst yourselves...there is your topic.

Ringo's signs autograph in 2010!!!

Everyone was so upset when Ringo announced that he wasn't going to be signing any more autographs. I told everyone that Ringo wasn't going to be signing autographs for people who mail in requests. He was still going to sign autographs now and then (with peace and love). And guess what Ringo was doing here in this fan photo taken before the 2010 Grammy Awards Sunday night? Yep...signing autographs for charity. All hope isn't lost friends...

Ringo at the Grammies

You might have seen Ringo on the Grammy awards tonight. If you want to see some photos from tonight, please go here. I have here some photos from when Ringo (along with Nancy Andrews) were at the Grammy awards in 1977. I believe these are more along the lines of paparazzi photos than fan photos, but the last one could go either way.
