Paul 2009

A fan snapped this photo recently of Paul getting in or out of a car. Notice all of the item people want signed. I spot the record album covers for Tug of War and Please please me and a Cd cover of the Red album. I also see a glossy photo and several books. Did I miss anything? I can't blame the fans for trying, but the man has to be tired of signing things all day long.

Paul on a rooftop....no not that one!

Fan of this blog (wow there are fans??? ), Vickie recently sent me these recent photos of Paul on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan theatre for the David Letterman Show. They were taken by her friend, Renata who was lucky enough to see Paul perform AND close enough to take some photos. I really enjoy them. I have seen a dozen or more photos of Paul from this day lately, but these have such a warmer feeling to them.
Be sure to check out Vickie, blog http://www.whatyouredoing.blogspot.com/

My trip to Los Angeles!
At the Hollywood Bowl where the Beatles played in 1964 and 1965
Here I am standing by a Beatles advertisement at Capitol Records
At the George Harrison star
Anthology awards through the glass
I peaked inside the glass door at Capitol and snapped some photos of the Beatles things on the wall through the glass (I know...I am Beatle obsessed)
John Lennon's star
The top of Capitol Records...this reminded me of Ringo's Goodnight Vienna album cover.
My mom with the Beatles star on the walk of fame
Capitol records tower: The Beatles had 2 press conferences in there
I am now back from my trip to California. I had a great time! On Saturday I took a tour of Hollywood and saw as many "Beatles things" as I could think of. I wanted to share those photos with you all. Then back to the regularlly scheduled fan photos. Enjoy!

A different point of view

I would think that by now most of you have seen the new photos of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr from the benefit concert that was held in NYC this past weekend. It is so nice to see the two living Beatles together. You really get a feel that they are still great friends. Some of the professional photos were taken from a press conference held the day before the concert. They are very nice photos and if you are interested in seeing them, please join the solo Beatles photo forum (the link should be to your right) because I recently posted some of them. However, here are some photos of that press conference taken by a fan. I think they give a different point of view. Put yourself in the fans shoes: luck to be there, in somewhat of a state of shock, wanting to get something to remember the day by on the camera. So what comes out are a little crooked, fuzzy and far away photos. However, they are dear photographs because I can just imagine what this fan was thinking while he or she was snapping them.....and I think they are emotions that the professional photographer was not having.
