Goodbye Tonsils

On this date, George had his tonsils out.   It makes me wonder if George was in pain during the Get Back sessions and rooftop concert.   Was this a planned tonsil removal or an emergency?    And why did Neil Aspinall get his tonsils removed when the Beatles were on the rooftop?   What was the deal with all of the tonsil removal?

I know it isn't really a concert, but in my mind, the songs the Beatles played on January 31, 1969 at the Apple Studios was a like a concert.   They could not play songs such as Let it Be on the rooftop, so they performed the rest of the songs in the studio.    And what a performance they gave!!

January 30, 1969 -  The Beatles rooftop concert is a historical part of Beatles history.   It happened 55 years ago today.  But you know what part of that day is also enjoyable?  Watching the Beatles and wives listening back to what they just recorded.
