All we wanted was a few words with them, photos, autographs, give them flowers and gifts. Ask them about the records they were making, about their families. "Just a smile would lighten everything". And you're so right, friendships I made when I arrived in London in 1967 are still going strong in 2018! The love for The Beatles made me meet people from all over the world, follow their lives, share our happy days and our tears, pray for one another when needed, it's a brotherhood/sisterhood like no other. With the internet, no matter where we are in the world, we communicate daily. There was only good that came from waiting for them. Of course, being human, there could be a day when one of them was in a bad mood, and we knew to avoid getting near. We were very young and naive. I wish all of you could have been there, it was a magical, special time!Lizzie Bravohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07219518308643161665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108119778215437215.post-37960752635967223552018-12-10T06:40:52.835-06:002018-12-10T06:40:52.835-06:00It's an interesting psychological comparison, ...It's an interesting psychological comparison, stalkers and fans, but no one discusses anything anymore, they react instead.
One change in the memoirs and photos from surviving fans from those days: we rely on them now as historical sources, something many music journalists are slow to realize. I wouldn't be surprised if PM visits websites that document his life and times via the photos and recollections of those surviving fans who hung around Abbey Rd or St John's Wood or Savile Row or the Stockbroker's Belt back in the day. Journalist accounts of Beatle moments can be a bit 3rd hand and standardised. Fans' accounts, and especially the spontaneous photos they took, feel more authentic, a closer look at that point in time. Yesterday's obsessive fan is today's reliable historian.
By the way, off-topic, the British Film Institute website is a useful place for bits of Beatle history that you can watch for free. Here is a link to a 1965 documentary hosted by Bob Wooler - - though you may be surprised by his non-Liverpudlian BBC accent. The music is mostly dreadful but what priceless views of the Cavern (the proper one, across the road from the remake)=
https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/watch-liverpool-a-go-go-1965-online
authorgaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10184781574549260000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108119778215437215.post-85557552475816830652018-12-10T00:43:01.480-06:002018-12-10T00:43:01.480-06:00Very well said Sara, thank you so much, Peace and ...Very well said Sara, thank you so much, Peace and Love...
