I've found most editors to be app...Fab review. I've found most editors to be appalling, for different reasons. I wonder whether Len's book was cobbled together from interview transcripts by a ghost writer/pal, and no editor fixed the seams. The typesetting sounds home-made, sort of skiffle. Good to have those historic recollections from Len, though. Most of the historic buildings are gone, so it's grand that the people are still standing.
